Hey Team!

We made it! 

Day 365...

2018 has about 16 hours left in it...

Which means, it is almost time to turn the page!

I am not a big "New Year, New Me" person, since when I look at day 365, many are very similar to day 1... 

But, I want that to change for you....

The past week I have written a few blogs ( A Journey to Personal ExcellenceThe Key to Winning 2019) on preparing for the new year).. and they were written very intentionally... and based on failure...

What? Failure? Yup!

I have been so sick of watching people through the years fail themselves, that I wanted to give specific action plans and strategies on how to win 2019....and every year after that....

The first of the year is a great place to "Start"... but it should not be the only time to start something new...

Something new can start immediately... any time...

Do not wait until the first of the year... or next Monday....

Realize, the journey to success and winning as it relates to any goal you may have, begins with a vision of what you want, what you are creating, and why you want it.....

That is the beginning.... and that can start NOW.

It just happens to work out that we are at day 365.. which means.. you have the chance to shed those old habits, and leave them in 2018....

So what do we do?

What can you do right now that will set up your best year yet?

#1: THE POWER OF "1"....

You may have a lot of things you want to accomplish this year... but I want you to pick "1" thing that will have to most profound effect on your life...

It must be something you can control and relies on no outside circumstance or decisions....

Start by filling in the blank below..

This year, I am going to ________________________. This will be the #1 thing I focus on. Anything who does not serve my one thing, will be eliminated from my "lists" and "thoughts"... written down on my "things to do later list".....

I know this sounds cheesy... but it works...

The #1 reason most of us fail at getting what we want is because we want too many things.... and we have not given a sense of priority to any one thing....

It is amazing how true focus, belief, vision, and commitment to one thing can change your life....

Example... have you ever been desiring a new car? Say a new Ford Explorer... in the color black? Now.. it seems, since you have been in the market for this new car... you see "so many" of them... Everywhere you look it seems like your car is there...

You are now "seeing" them because you are "focused" on them....

Same is true for you, your vision, and your life.....

 

Pick "1" thing.....

It will change your life..

"Well Coach, what if I pick the wrong thing?"

You won't... whatever comes first to mind is your "1" thing....

And that "1" thing must be followed by an action item.....

"1" Thing = I want to make more money this year

Action Item: I will have 5 meetings per week with those who should be doing business with me-- therefore, I need to make 25 calls we week and that will translate into 5 meetings....

"1" Thing: I want to lose these final 10lbs.....

Action Item: I tend to snack at night on sugar/ sweets/ pretzels... therefore, to achieve my goal for the year, I will keep sugar/ sweets/ pretzels out of the house and instead have a cup of tea each night...

"1"Thing: I want a better relationship with my husband/ wife/ gf/bf..

Action Item: I tend to spend the evenings on my phone when I am with my significant other.... therefore.. .in order to achieve the above, I will stay off my phone and put it away after work... and on the weekends so I can have better conversations and connection ( or.. I will take all the apps off my phone that distract me)

"1"  Thing: I want to reduce my stress & anxiety once and for all

Action Item: When I am to focused on the future, and what I do not have, I tend to stress... therefore.. each day, I will spend 5 minutes thinking about and writing all the great things I have in my life... and.. I will also take a hot bath each night to keep myself calm and present....

You see... these are simple examples... but you must remember this...

The results of these actions are NOT immediate... over the first quarter, second, third, and fourth quarter.. you will get better and better.....

So next year, at day 365.. you will have achieved something amazing... 

YOUR GOAL! 

Through consistent, focused, behavior.

That is the key to success.

That is the key to winning...

Then.. next year.. you redefine your "1" thing and grow from there!
