How to Win 2019: Saw Wood.

Hope you had an amazing holiday and enjoyed time with friends and family!
Every year, I like to take a few days off from writing over the holidays.. and make my blog more of a "treat" and a "wonder" on what it will arrive...
In true Santa Claus fashion...
Now that Christmas is past us... what is next?
Goal Setting Season...
The Most Confusing Season of the Year...
The time when Men, Women, and Children all sit down to reflect on the prior year... thinking about the wins... thinking about the losses... and thinking: 2019 will be my best year yet!
Now that is great... Isn' it?
Absolutely!
Hope. Excitement. Reflection... all Great things!
But.. here is the problem...
Different year... same broken plan...
You can not write down the 5 things you would love to accomplish.. like increase my revenue by 25%, lose 30lbs, spend more time with my kids or family, or have a breakout season if you have no DAILY PLAN developed...
You can not forget that success in anything is the results of your daily execution of a daily plan which is built for YOU (and understands your habits and tendencies).....
And.. finally, you can not even think of WINNING at this magical list if you do not have systems of accountability in place for yourself.. which may include a spouse, a kid, a friend, a team, or a Coach.
Think about it...
It is almost impossible for the majority to stay focused on task and plan for a week...
What makes you think you can do it for 52 weeks alone?
Very hard.
The goal setting system is set up to fail you... because it does not understand WHO YOU ARE...
It is built on generalities and concepts that are classroom oriented...
So, today, I want to show you how to do it... from the words of Denzel Washington...
SAW WOOD EVERY DAY....
Meaning, for each goal you have, write down the 1- thing you must do 90% of the time to move that needle....
Example:
GOAL: LOSE 20lbs. in 6 months
Action Steps......
-Exercise on a structured conditioning and strength program 5days/week.
-Cut out Sugar and Starch Carbs 5 days/ week
**And.. when you do this.. only choose 1-3 objectives MAX. Meaning, Weight Loss (Physical), 1-Positive/ Deep Conversation per Day (Relationships), Make 5-Calls Minimum to Prospects per Day (Business)..
Those objectives + action steps (most importantly- work doesn't get done without action) become your days work... every, single day...
That is it.
Those objectives and action steps are your "job"... your "how-to" plan..
Stop getting caught up in all the crap...
Get to work...
Simplify.
Chase Greatness and WIN through process...
That is how you WIN 2019...Saw Wood (singular focus, execute objectives) Every Day!
