Hey Team!
Today I am surprising you with a mid day blog....
I was away for the weekend and am heading to Boston tonight to speak with a Collegiate Athletic Department... Coaches & Student Athletes...
But, before I leave, I wanted to send you today's blog... which talks about: Racing the Clock...
Time.
Wow.
Such a powerful concept...(and reality)...
SO many are searching for more time so they can do more things during the course of day... month.. or year...
And for some.. unfortunately, today, they are out of time... wishing they can grab even another second....
And for others.. they are wasting time...(scrolling, not being intentional, and just wondering, speaking, and being without a defined purpose)...
Finally, there are those who are racing the clock.... (I am one of them)....
Working to accomplish certain things, by certain times, and often times feeling the pressure of self-imposed deadlines....
And that my friends is just as bad as the other forms of Time-Abuse....
So what do we do?
How do we improve our relationship with time?
Get a clear mission.
Get clear goals.
Get clear on your purpose.
Then.. each day.. do something to feed that mission, goal, and purpose...
If you do just ONE-THING.. you have won the day....
I realized this not to long ago... I am only racing myself... meaning, this false narrative I have created has led to a feeling of un-necessary pressure... to meet a non-existent deadline.. for no reason.. other than the desire to "race"...
So, whenever I feel this way... I go back to my mission:
TO MOTIVATE, INSPIRE, AND ENCOURAGE OTHERS TO PERSONAL GREATNESS
This is where it all begins and ends... and you realize.. by putting daily attention, focus, and efforts into this mission.. I get the chance to "win" and "compete" every single day....
No need to race the clock... just get focused on the mission...
I encourage you to do the same..
Don't get caught up in your negative rhetoric... get excited about your mission and go spread the gospel of your mission to anyone that can benefit....
Fall in love with that process and you will be a daily winner... and less effected by the ups and downs of daily life...
GO win the day...
I'm off to Boston!
Wish me luck (any time a Yankee goes to Beantown it's a risk :)
Let's Go.
Chase Greatness...
