Some of you may be asking, "Coach, why do you always call us team?"....
Well, the answer is simple.
We are a team.
Each AM when I write to you, I look past the screen I am typing on.
I always say: "How can I help everyone that reads this message win today?"
And through the years, this has never let me down.
In fact, it is what allows me to meet you right where you are and connect with you at a deeper level.
What excites me is each day I hear from members of this TEAM.
"Coach, it was like you were speaking to me today."- and that makes me so happy...
As a result of that happiness, I engage even more and want to do write to my Team more and more!
Now, my question for you today is this: WHO is on your team?
You see, if you do not have a team to keep you mentally and physically peak, you will struggle.
I coach people and teams all day.
I see blindspots that people can not see for themselves.
I see energy changes and shifts people to not feel yet.
I see clearly what they can not.
That is coaching.
But, without a team of my own, I miss my own blindspots.
I can not see what I am missing.
So, I have my own Coach.
I have my own team that helps me in all facets of life.
This does not mean I do not do anything but coach and survive- but, I do have quite a bit of help so I can do the things I love and the things that I am good at.
Over the years I have noticed a trend....
The more successful somebody is, the more somebody earns, the greater the team.
Well, Coach, of course they have a big team.... they are rich!
What if it were the other way?
They are wealthy and have achieved max success in what they do because they right away were thinking: WHO can take this and run with it?....
That is how winners think.
**Doing everything yourself will ensure things get done to your standard (maybe) but it is more costly than the bill you will be presented by another person who is an expert.
This is often true because many people try to do too many things on their own....
That leaves a lot of open books and very few completed projects.
So, what do we do?
Start by asking this question....
WHO is the + to my - ?
I shared this a few weeks ago with a sales team and I am doing the same today for the amazing team I am coaching at a full-day retreat!
When you ask this question, you will find answers and people who are truly experts at what you are not great at.....
Who is the plus to your minus?
Let's apply this principle to something you have been putting off and dragging your feet on.
Let's stop doing it all on our own and believing the crap, "If you want it done right, do it yourself."...
That is a line of a jaded sole proprietor...
Not a thriving team player...
Life is a team sport...
Life is about team and working together...
Let somebody else shine and do what they love to do!
You do the same because you are smart enough to delegate.....
Your team will help you win- make sure you have one.
I remember the first time I saw this in action was with Alex Rodriguez... AROD.
He was the first player I had ever seen with a personal assistant in his late 20s.
Then, when you went to his home, he had a team of people working.
For his physical training he had me.
He had a well oiled machine working and it was like art watching it at work.
See yourself as an offensive coordinator.
You are seeing what can be done, who should be doing it because they have the highest competency, and then you are assigning the project.
This works no matter where you are at in life.
I, at times like to pretend I have no skills or abilities at all and then ask myself, "If I can not contribute to getting this done- who can help me get it done?"
This keeps you thinking about others vs. self.
Which oftentimes keeps heavy loads off of you- the loads that often sink your ship or slow it down.
Give it a shot.
Pick one thing today that is your minus and find the plus to your minus.
