Hey Team...

I had to write to you today to share this message...

I was teaching a group of 17 CEOs, Executives, and Leaders yesterday...

A very private, intimate gathering... designed to help them optimize their personal performance...

It was great to see this many hard-chargers in the same room....

The theme of the day was: PUTTING YOURSELF IN THE FIRST POSITION....

Selfish right?

Yea.. I know... but it had to be said...

These Leaders are always putting themselves second....

Scary enough.. not because they are spending more time with family.... or vacationing... or relaxing... or working out....

But... they are putting their business first.... and then justifying it!

They are justifying the fact that some are over-weight, in pain, and are not physically in tip-top-shape so they can go out each day with high energy, being pain-free, and reaching their goals while still maintaining their physical and mental health.....

Crazy.

"I want to lose 25lbs...." said one gentleman...

Well.. what is the issue?

"I am too busy.." he proclaimed... this is a busy time for the business... 

And... my reply was... well what is your plan when the business is less busy?

No plan. Just "hoping" to get on a routine.... 

Crazy...

Successful in business... bankrupt in health- physically and soon mentally....

What was amazing though... is all of them knew what they "had to work on"...

They just chose not to do it....

They had no plan....

Just a "hope  plan".... 

Usually.. I always say these types get their butt in gear when they have that moment of Jesus at the doctor, the bank, or in divorce court... then... they wake up quickly....

But why?

Why are so many putting work above their own health?

Why does it come so natural?

I found it to be due to the following:

1. They do not understand how training/ working out will actually better their business life....

2. Their view point of exercise and fitness is negative (due to the industry)...

3. They bite off too much too soon.... they are trying to train for a marathon before they are able to walk 3 miles....

Scary. And... very sad.

For many of my clients... I first get them stretching and hydrating.. zero effort work on their behalf... then.. once they are ready... we take them to the next level... a small step up where we begin to add cardiovascular exercise...

Start simple. 

But.. in that simplicity... check that box every day... 

Make it happen.

The excuses are garbage... and for those of us leaders out there... your excuses make you weak...

By you taking control of your physical and mental game... you will see your game change in all aspects of your life... 

Fight for consistency....

Make it happen... 

It is how we achieve results...

One day at a time...

Chop away...

Embrace the process...

And for those fellas at the meeting yesterday... they may think they are winning now... but is short lived.... the stress and bad numbers from the blood work always win...

Get started.
