I really wanted to share this concept with you today....
The concept of: Emotional Over-ride.
What is it?
Have you ever been wanting to do something, getting something done, go after a dream/goal... and boom, you feel a small wall appear?
Or, maybe you are starting to get the wheels turning, and all of a sudden, you feel a shift of emotion that happens that becomes a blockade between you and what you want to achieve?
This is the Emotional Wall.
It is not Gut Instinct, actually quite the opposite.
It is a strong feeling driven by fear that limits you from being able to proceed.
The Emotional Wall can keep you trapped for months, or even years, not letting you pass through until you are able to "over-come" the emotions that create it.
This is where Emotional Over-ride comes in.
Emotional Over-ride is simply you "doing it anyway."
I have this feeling, but I am not listening or focusing on it... and I am going towards my goal anyway.
Emotional Over-ride is YOU simply making a choice that says, I know these emotions are here...but I do not freaking care. I am going.
Think about it.
Think about the last time you hesitated.
Did you feel that strong emotional wall?
I know that I have.
And what did you do next?
Did you act like a tamed lion at the circus, forgetting how much power you actually have?
Or, did you ROAR and run right over that wall?
The only way to conquer anything is through action.
You can conquer your own mind and hesitations through action.
You can self-correct years of mental drama and B.S. by taking UNCOMFORTABLE ACTION... and realize this: It will only be uncomfortable just prior to taking action... and, for the first few steps of the action process.
Then, the challenge of the process/ event will get you so focused you will forget about the emotions you had initially anyway. You will be so focused on the task at hand you will not have time for the emotional baggage.
We work with our High Performance Athletes on this all the time. Overcome your drama so you can be great.
That is what I want for you today and everyday.
What is something you can push through on today?
Write it down.
Go do it.
Get after it.
