Hi Team...

Well, it is great to be back in NY and enjoy some of the brisk fall weather!

Now, brisk meaning 60s.. which compared to Florida is quite brisk!

Yesterday, I was doing a walk & talk on a phone call with a great client, Coach Mac, and we were talking about what it takes to be great....

I mentioned to him the importance of being aware of your Time & Energy Utilization..

Think about it like this...

  • Some things you do- make you feel great.
  • Other things you do- make you feel drained.

That is Energy Utilization and you can either have a positive or a negative score.

Next, lets talk about Time Utilization.

  • Some things you do- you put in time, you get an immediate result.
  • Some things you do- you put in time, you get a delayed result.
  • Some thing you do- you put in time, you get NO result.

That is time utilization and you can either have a positive or negative score.

My question(s) for you today is this: Are you spending your time on things that give you a result and a positive score?

Or, Are you spending your time on things that use your time- but do not give you a result- or positive score?

When I come across a client or team that is frustrated, feeling stuck, or just not grooving- I immediately look at their time and energy utilization scores...

Which, really, is just looking at their results in real-time.

You see, we as competitors get frustrated when we are not growing and not getting results.

When we feel like we are growing- we are feeling good.

Why?

Because we are most likely, consciously or subconsciously using our time well- and therefore, we are getting a a strong result and energy return.

When we are not growing- we feel terrible.

We have to be careful because we can very quickly label ourselves and identify as "loser, or, not succeeding"- and this leads to a further spiral away from victory.

How are you using your time?

Do you measure the results of your day?

Do you reconcile your day at the end of the day to make sure you performed?

Most people I see are great at make TO-DO Lists- but very poor at measuring their activities and what they accomplished for the day.

They never reconcile their day- and, therefore, they always feel like they have so much to do.

Be aware of your Time & Energy Utilization.

Only put time and energy into the things that give you a return on both.

Let's go.

Go out and WIN today!

Your Coach,
