Hi Team...
Yesterday we had a great discussion on our Champions-30 Team Call...
It was about "rewarding" ourselves when things go well- and "rewarding" ourselves when things go bad...
Hear me out...
We were discussing some of habits of folks when they got a big win...
Scored the big deal, hit their numbers, exceeded expectation, took their Company public, acquired a company, you name it....
The celebration involved often times booze and bad eating....
So, I asked: What happens when you did poorly?
What was amazing is the answers were almost the same....
Booze, bad food, extra calories.
Wait a minute....
We treat ourselves the same when things go good and when things go bad?
Yup. We do. Most Times.
Why??
We let emotion drive our decisions....
This is the main point I was pushing to the team yesterday....
When we let emotion drive decisions, we almost always lose.
Emotion is not real.
It is made up.
We give emotion life- and our state determines emotion.
We determine the emotion.
Either based on based experiences we have filed--- or based on how we feel about ourselves in a given moment....
"I feel fat" = negative emotion, low state of self-esteem, leads to bad decisions...
"I feel old" = negative emotion, leads to decisions around being old...
"I feel I have low energy" = negative state of emotion, leads to a life designed round having low energy..
When we allow negative states and emotional mindsets to drive us- we almost never get great results.
This is one of the great takeaways I have been seeing from our group transformation over the last 28 days....
Views are changing therefore outcomes are changing...
Diets = Negative..
Eating Great, Energy Driving Foods = Positive
When we can immerse ourselves in more positive states and environments through choice, we win.
Last night I was coaching a lovely woman who was saying "how" do I do IT?
I said, you CHOOSE to do IT- whatever IT is.
There are always 2 choices- the choice that brings you close to where you want to go, or, the one that takes you further.
In life, we are either closing gap or creating a wider one between us and our goals..
We choose.
You choose health.
You choose success.
You choose victory.
You choose.
Never forget it.
I said this to a client yesterday: YOU ARE FAT BECAUSE YOU CHOOSE TO BE.
I know- it is harsh.
But, it is truth.
