Hi Team...
Friday already... WOW.. these weeks fly!
Did you achieve your objectives for the week?
If you took the week off- was it a true week "off"?
Either way, today's lesson is more about recovery than food.. contrary to the title (the worst type of junk food)...
Today, I wanted to talk about JUNK FOOD FOR YOUR BRAIN...
And, in moments of "nothing to do", we often find ourselves innately doing this....
She said, "The phone and social media are junk food for your brain"....
This is based on: How do you feel when you are done?
What legitimate information do you actually extract from your viewing of this social content?
For many of us, it started off as a fun thing to look at friends- learn what they are up to and then we went on with our life...
But today, if you are not connected, well, you feel like you are missing out...
How can you possibly move your business forward without it?
How can you possibly stay in the loop without it?
How can you possibly stay on top of your team without it?
Well, what if I told you, the majority of the individuals I work with that have net worths of 10+ figures- none of them are on it.
Zero.
Not one.
Interesting.
Now, you may say it is because they are "already there" and they made it.
True. They made it in a time when social media was just a baby- and, they continue to "make it" through the full growth cycle of social media.
As a matter of fact, one of them told me a few weeks ago, "Coach, today is a very confusing time. You have people thinking they have to do certain things to be successful and happy- but, they are so confused on what that actually looks like because they are looking at everybody else do variations of the same thing."
Wow.
Powerful.
What would your life be like without "always connecting" and "always being on"?
You see, the worst part about the social channels- and even being online with a handheld device is that we are always "on"... never getting a chance to totally unplug and be unaccessible..
Always being available is not a good thing..
Remember that...
What is a good thing though is: GIVING YOURSELF PERMISSION TO RECOVER BY FREEING YOURSELF FROM YOUR DEVICES, DIGITAL CONNECTION AND SCREENS FOR A SET PERIOD OF TIME EACH DAY.... (let's say: after 6pm)..
Think about how much time you are giving up and how much true productivity is costing you....
How much real connection it is costing you....
Stay away from digital junk food!
Let's GO!
Your Coach,
COACH DANA CAVALEA
