Hey Team---

I hope after yesterday's blog... you are on your second day of Checking The Box...

Staying consistent with our "commitments" can be very hard... especially when there is too much noise....

Twitter, Facebook, Instagram... you name it... NOISE...

Hard to stay focused.. and at times... remember our immediate goals and tasks due to the distraction....

And that leads me into today's talk..... about YOUR TIME....

We only get so much of it....

We only get so much time....

But... we all get the same amount....

And.. starting today... I want you to take your time VERY SERIOUSLY...

Meaning... we need to increase our productivity... while lowering our reactivity... and also.. allowing for guilt-free play-time... free-time...

The only way we can get to that magical place of "free-time" or "disconnection".. is if we earn it through a strong plan of execution....

You want to know how we get there?

Like this....

Step 1: Own Your Morning.....

- Workout, Hydrate, Power Breakfast, Positive Self- Coaching, Attack The List....

Step 2: Attack The List.....

-You should already have planned your action items for the day.... Your Power-Plays (needle moving items)... and your Assists (things that need to get done, but are not urgent.. ex. oil changes, car washes, shopping, etc.)

Step 3: Relationship Building Contacts....

- 3 Phone Calls/ Meetings with those who are close to you... where you want to express how you feel.. and also remain "connected" with... mom/dad/friends/mentors/coaches... you name it.... stay connected... don't ever let these slip

Step 4: Creative Work... Free Time for the Mind to Gain Vision....

-We all need time to think about "growth" and "development"... plan it daily.. take out a notebook and write down your ideas.. you do not need to act on them now.. but write them down.. draw charts.. role play.. create "the plan" and deploy when the time is right

Step 5: Unplug... Transition from Your Day of Work....

- You got your calls done.. your meetings done... your Power-Plays and Assists complete... now you get to "go home"... but before you get there... you must "transition" from your day... For some.... they may go for a walk... for others.. 45 minutes of a podcast or audio jam in the car is enough..... for others... a cup of tea or coffee at the local shop... others... another workout or jam session on a guitar or drums.... YOU MUST TRANSITION...this way.. you can be 100% home when you are there....

This may sound a bit rigid.. but you can adjust and make it work for your schedule.. just DO NOT FLOAT through your day... or you will find yourself asking what happened to the day... and you will not have the achievement to match the time...

Plan... while also leaving a little time for chance..

I try to leave "exploration" time each day... this way... I can meet new people.. try new things... and be "out there"...

But.. many parts of my day are structured....

Stay focused.

Stay committed.

Greatness is coming.....
