One of the words that we see often today is "intentional"....
How did this word gain so much esteem as of late?
Well, let's first take a look at what it means....
Intentional: Done on purpose or deliberate.
Well, that is pretty simple. Pretty straightforward. Pretty clear.
So in order for a word or saying to be used with frequency, it is often the case that many are not doing or living up to the word.
If people are not living on purpose or deliberately, they must be living by default.
They most be living defensively.
Now, the real question here is: WHY?
Why are they doing that?
My thoughts on this are simple......
We are trying to do too much, too fast, and are always seeking more.
More of ourselves, more from others, more from our life, more money, more things, more riches, more love, more happiness, more food....
MORE. MORE. MORE.
We are suffering from the disease of more.
It owns many of us today.
Enough is never enough.
More is always desired.
Many have no idea- but the truth is, we find safety and security in more.
But, the reality is, that simply is not true.
More does not provide more safety and security -as those two things come from within.
You have the ability to find safety and security and any time within yourself- it is never truly provided externally.
Until this truth is understood at the deepest level of self- freedom is hard to find.
I often talk to older folks- 80s and 90s type of folks.
Those that have been through it-- and many of them are spending time or have been spending time getting rid of their "more".....
The more that at one point they thought they needed- but now are going back to the Maslow Basics of food, shelter, air, water, and clothing.
They are downsizing their life into its most basic form- and you know what?
They are happy.
They are feeling truly happy.
You see, having less can actually make you more.
The addiction to more is actually the problem- as the goal should always be to do less and BE more as a result of the time you have from pursuing less.
Now, this by no means is saying: Be lazy. Do not achieve anything.
It is saying simply MORE is not the answer.
I will leave you with this- many are trying to do too many things....
They want to be these, buy that, start X businesses, and are flat out chasing everything.
Let things come to you.
Attract things through clarity and grounded-ness.
This is how you can live with less stress- and finally enjoy what you have.
That is a gift that comes with many blessings.
Now, today, go out and SIMPLIFY your life.
Speaking of simplify, last week I sat down with Ryan Coyne of We The People Wines- he simplified his business down to a very simple model that serves HIS tribe- and he is getting an amazing response.
