Derek Jeter: " _____________"

Hi Team...

I wanted to write something short to you today.....

It has to do with one of my former players, Derek Jeter.

As many know, yesterday was his day to be officially inducted into the Hall of Fame- an honor that only few receive.

He said something in his speech that truly defined him- and should define us all. 

" I worked as hard as I could, gave it my all and focused on the fundamentals".....

Now, knowing Derek for over 20 years- I will tell you this- he did all of those things- but always made time for fun and a good time.

He never worked himself into the ground.

He never put pressure on himself.

Instead, he trusted himself, his plan, his coaching staff, and that it will all work out.

Powerful.

You get to this place by:

• Doing the work and being consistent with it......
• Doing the work and being consistent with it.....
• Doing the work and being consistent with it.....

You do not need to be working all the time- but you do need to give that work your all when you do it.

I see too much "eye-wash" today with people doing too much, working all the time, and not getting anywhere except fatigued, burnt-out, and sick.

I want it to stop.

I need it to stop.

Instead, enjoy what you do.

Enjoy your journey.

Enjoy doing the work you love and the results it yields.

Remember this: Passion and Pressure can not coexist.

One cancels the others.

Focus on passion.

Give it your all.

In the end- like Derek Jeter- you will have no regrets.
