Hi Team...

I remember having breakfast one day with Andy Petttitte and he told me this:

Focus on your character, let God determine your reputation.

It was so powerful that I had him write it on the wall of my gym!

What I enjoyed most about this statement was that it hit me differently than most. It validated that if we go about working to be our best everyday, our reputation will take care of itself.

Most are more focused on their reputation than their character. Quickly forgetting that their reputation is based on opinion of others often times.

Our character is really the only thing we can control.

If we focus on building our character each day our results in life will be the result of that daily build..

What are some key things we can work on each day to strengthen our character?

  • How we treat ourselves...
  • How we treat others...
  • Working hard...
  • Working with focused discipline...
  • Bringing passion and enthusiasm to all we do...
  • Staying aligned to our personal mission...
  • Building something bigger than ourself... 
  • Make every interaction the best it can be...
  • Being where you are.. with who you are with = fully present...
  • Respect yourself...
  • Never let others treat you poorly...

You see, these are action steps that can strengthen your character, give you full conviction in all that you do and how you see yourself, and, when you are working on these things each day, you always win.

Will you face battles? Yup.

Will you run into people that try to take advantage of you? Yup.

Will any of this stop you? Nope.

Each day you commit to the above, you get stronger.

You get stronger at a roots level.

You will become a force to be reckoned with.

Those you come in contact with will feel how grounded you are...

How difficult it is to persuade you to do things that go against your character...

Strengthen your character each day through a set of daily habits and routines...

For some it is:

  • Reading
  • Writing
  • Prayer
  • Exercise
  • Affirmations
  • Deep Conversations

Or, some combination of all of the above...

Whatever it is for you- double down.

We need you to remain strong and convicted now more than ever.
