Hi Team-

Happy Monday!

Two weeks ago I did an interview with World Champion, Red Sox Star Kevin Youkilis.

When Youk played he was an all-in, tough as nails type player.

Many of the other teams would always try to go at him because he would get so excited as a player that he was the kind of player that would drive you nuts as his opposition.

What many do not know about Pros is that they get nervous just like you.

They worry about their performance just like you since they are paid to play.

And, their pay  is based 100% on their performance.

If they don't play well, they are out.

Talk about pressure.

Also- what makes sports so unique is that every time you get up to bat, your stat line is right in front of you on the scoreboard.

Anybody watching on TV can also see your stats because they are front and center on the broadcast!

I asked Youk how he dealt with his emotions as a player?..

He simply said his habits and routines allowed him to be at bay with his emotions...

He also said since he held himself to a standard that was higher than any fan could ever hold him, he never allowed the words of fans to inhibit or interrupt his performance.

Through the years, I have seen almost all 10+ year veteran players take the same approach. They are robotic. Almost machine like as it relates to their routine, which is really a process.

A daily process that leads to predictable results.

Also, for many players, when their process no longer leads to predictable results- well, that is when many hang it up!

How is your routine?

Is your life made up of habits and routines that set you up for success?

Well, if not, it is time.

When your day becomes an automated set of habits, routines, and processes, life becomes easier and eventually you begin to move on autopilot.

Now, does that mean be so rigid you have no fun or room for circumstance? Nope.

It just means dialing down on your essentials.

Take some time today and think about 3-4 routines that you can put in place as it relates to:

1. Your Health

2. Your Work

3. Your Family/ Family Time

4. Your Learning, Development, and/or Spiritual Life

When you build processes around the above,  you will be amazed at how much more you get done, how grounded you feel, and how prepared you feel for anything that comes your way.

Go out and win the week!

Let's GO!
