Loving What You Do = Success (Meet Charlie)

Hi Team....

I want to talk to you today about a man named Charlie.

Charlie was raised on a farm not to far from mine in Upstate New York.

He spent his childhood helping his dad on the farm- where he grew to love work.

He spent his adult life driving a truck.

He loves Farmall and International Tractors (below) so much that he has dedicated his retirement to restoring them- and being amazing at it.

He then sells them to guys like me who love history, love American engineering, and love people who are passionate about their work.

Charlie does not miss any details.
He focuses on the big things and the little things.

Methodical.

Detailed.

Working at his pace to perfection.

Each tractor he works on, he puts his heart and love into.
He is calm, relaxed, and has a great spirit.

And- he has a line of customers that want to purchase his "Tractor Art".
No formal business background.

Just a PASSION for what he does- and all of those who know him talk about him.

They rave about his work.

They show all their friends and family his masterpieces.

They showcase his tractors for all to see.

Then, he sells another tractor.
This is the essence of great business.

Doing work that is 100% excellent- and with no corners cut. 

This is the old school way of working that is getting harder and harder to find.

Charlie's passion is what sells.

Along with all the attributes of GREAT found below:

Great person.
Great product.
Great work.
Great craftsmanship.
Great pride in the completed project.
No shortcuts.

This is what Charlie teaches us.

In whatever you do, do it right and do it well.

Aim to be the best and let others feel and experience your passion for what it is you do.

Whether you run a hedge fund or venture capital firm, lead a classroom or manage a team, or are in the business of developing athletes and/ or people.

Do your best and bring the passion.

It is seldom spoken of today as a differentiator, but it is the magic.

It is the one thing that can truly make you standout because it is an illustration of a natural flow of energy.

If you lack passion, you will forever struggle to find happiness and joy.

You will become just another burnt-out, irritable executive or leader that lost their magic.
