Hey Team...

Happy Labor Day...

I am writing to you today from Long Island... the place where I grew up!

A great weekend with family... talking, relaxing, and enjoying the slight chill in the air!

Every year, around this time, I start to get really excited.

I call it The Final Push.

The time of year where I give it my all to close out the year with a bang.

I study what I did last year... and use this time to make sure I finish the year better than last year so my "number and metrics" show progress!

Year over year progress.

Year over year growth.

That is what we are aiming for.

It does not have to be massive growth.. but growth.

Do you know how you did last year?

Do you have metrics that you can use to judge your year?

What about just a descriptive feeling... or a title you can use to describe/ title your year last year... vs. the title/ description for this year?

I know it may sound a bit nuts.. or even extreme... but being somebody that is always seeking improvement... and coaching people that are always seeking improvement, I find it really important to have a way of "measuring your growth"...

In business, you can look at your numbers.. which is great... but they can also be incomplete.

Example: I had the best year of my life as shown by the numbers... but I was miserable = Not a good year.

I had the best year of my life in terms of revenues.. but our profits were lower, there were many more management headaches... = Not a good year.

We had a great team... but did not meet our full potential... not even close actually = Not a good year.

Figure out the best system of measure for you... and begin to keep track of your years....

It is important.

It keeps you focused.

It keeps you aligned.

It will also keep you moving forward. 

Again, I know this may sound a bit nuts, but most high performers are nuts.

In a good way. 

SO, as we embark on the last push of the year... let's make it great....

If there are about 120 days left of 2019... how many of those days are you going to exercise?

How many of those days are you going to eat well?

How many of those days are you going to use for focused work?

How many prospects will you be calling during those days?

Set targets. 

Even if you have not had any true targets or metrics set in the past...

Start today.

Use 120 days as your marker....

That way you know you will be able to finish STRONG.

I know you can do it.

Just lock in.

Believe in yourself.

Put people on notice... YOU are the STORM.
