It Always Starts At The Top!

Hi Team...

I am fired up this AM! I just spent the last two days out in Montauk coaching an amazing group of sales leaders for a family business that is 98 years old...

Yup.

Almost a century old business.

Unheard of today.

But, what I find most incredible about this company, Arkay Packaging is their passion and desire to win.

Win big.

To be the industry leader in their micro niche of packaging.

Have you heard of them?

Probably not.

Are they the best at what they do?

Yes they are.

I love learning about the Companies I coach at a deep level. So, over the past several weeks, I took a deep dive to learn as much as I could about the Company and realized quickly their success was based on a few key things:

1. Great, forward thinking, passionate Leaders. 

2. A passion for product and innovation...

3. An honest, high integrity commitment to their people and their development...(and one that is not out of obligation, but out of passion for their people)

They nailed it.

Mitchell, the third generation CEO gets it. He is a guy that is the perfect blend of CEO, passionate leader, and musician/ artist...

Yup. You read that right.

He brings his whole self into his role as a leader and shares all of his amazing traits with his team..

What does this do?

Well, it allows them to do the same!

They are open.

They are transparent.

They blend their personal life with their professional life.

They love sharing their passions outside of work.

When you put all of this together, you get a high stick, high connectivity culture that is focused on making it happen!

Then their is the next in command, Walt. 

Walt is a great people person from Long Island that just gets people.

His famous, W-W-W-saying is: Why wouldn't we?

Why wouldn't we serve our customers the best we can?

Why wouldn't we innovate?

Why wouldn't we find the best possible people to be on our team?

Why wouldn't we get the best machines to do our printing?

Exactly.

Why wouldn't you work to be the best and do all that you can do?

Then, there is Brian.

Another blue-collar Long Islander that is all about tightening the operation.

Always forecasting and seeing how the team and Company can be better.

Asking the tough questions and looking out front just enough to keep the Company nimble yet innovative.

And finally, the glue of it all is Ruth.

The connector.

She makes it happen.

All the details.

All the logistics.

The mom of the group that keeps it all running tight!

That is a great team my friends.

When you have this kind of leadership coupled with a high passion group of salespeople and tradesmen, you win.

You win big.

Year over year.
