Hi Team...

Do some days just get away from you?

You start with great intentions and before you know it, well, it's 6pm... time to wrap for the day!

If that is you, you are not alone!

And, before we get into the ART OF TIME-MAPPING, let's bullet point some of the great time-vacuums.. 

Multi-Tasking (Doing Too Many Things at Once)....

Multi-Thinking (Thinking Too Many Things at Once)...

Multi-Being (Being Too Many Places at Once)...

All of these things simply distill down to you having no focus, feeling amped because you can not get focused or centered, and feeling like you are not productive... because you aren't.

You are not even close to as productive as you should be or can be....

Why?

Think of the brain as central command....

Central command just got a call that it has to shoot a missile (do something very specific).. so, the system calibrates, aims at the target, and then BOOM, it gets ready for fire... 

And just before taking that clear shot and executing, well, central command gets another call!

And immediately begins to calibrate the system, aims at the NEW target, and then boom.. it gets ready to fire...

And just before taking that clear shot and executing... well, you get the point. Another call comes in.

That is life for most people.

They do not get anything done because their NEXT CALL is either:

  • Another Call
  • Another Text
  • Another Social Media "Impulsive Desire"
  • Another Email Check
  • Another Great Idea
  • Another Task
  • Another Emergency

And once again, this leads to getting nothing done.

So what is TIME MAPPING?

Time mapping is a MACRO understanding of time usage, followed by a MICRO understanding of time usage.

Simply stated: HOW DO YOU SPEND YOUR TIME?

Most people do not even know where their most precious resource goes....

Where and How do you spend your time each day?

If you spend it effectively, not only do you get a lot done, but, you get more free time...

If you spend it effectively, you also get closer to your vision...

If you spend it poorly, you live a life of always feeling like you have to do more, can do more, should do more, are not doing enough... and ultimately, you feel like you are failing.

Remember, you hold the stopwatch...

Where are you placing your priority of time?

So, today, lets talk about the MACRO...

If you could spend your time appropriately, what is the ONE PLACE you would spend most of your time in the following categories?

  • Family
  • Professional Work
  • Health
  • Rejuvenation/ Restoration/ Spirit/ God

These are Life's BIG-4.....

As you continue this week... what is 1-PRIORITY for each category above?

Once you achieve that Daily Execution (micro) of that 1-Priority, you have won for the day.... and when repeated for the week, well, you have then won the week!

Make sense?

We must know where we are spending our time each day...

So in addition to finding your BIG-4, I want you to create a short list of your biggest time-vacuums... 

These are activities that steal your attention, distract you, or are just not high ROI, return on investment, ROT, return on time activities. 

When you get TIME-MAPPING right, you will feel free, less pressure, and always on-time... because each day you are making progress towards the big vision.
