I said YES....

Hey Team...

About six months ago, I learned about the formation of the Puerto Rico College Baseball League....

Two guys with a dream, Tony Boyer and Danny Acosta had the dream of bringing baseball players from the United States to Puerto Rico to play ball for the summer...

They would have the chance to play in the Caribbean on an Island that has produced a tremendous amount of MLB talent...

They would learn the traditions, the culture, and the game... Puerto Rican style...

A great experience...

But, I will share this... 

When I first heard about the league, I knew it would be great...

An unbelievable experience for the players... and the coaches....

But, I was really busy....

I have been in California, Chicago, Indiana, all in about a 10 days.....

And prior to that, speaking in North Carolina, San Diego, Los Angeles, and a few other cities....

 

So, why am I telling you this?

Well, 6-months ago I wanted to say NO more than I wanted to say YES because I knew I would be "on the run"......

And, when we are on the run, sometimes we make decisions that may not be that great for us....

It is so much easier to say NO in life to things that we are unsure about...

To things that may not be as "established" as some other pseudo-gurantees in life...

But, I have a philosophy in life... and business....

Say YES.

What do I mean?

It means, we often want to say NO because we are tired, scared, not sure, and sometimes just lack the security we need to say YES....

It is the times you say YES though where you can really expand your horizons....

Take the call of the stubborn college kid looking for a shot....

Go on the lunch you have been avoiding....

Jump on the plane to lock that deal down.....

Say YES when many others would say NO...

Now, that does not mean be reckless with your time, but it does mean not eliminating things because everyone else would... or because the opportunity does not look as great as something else....

I am a ground floor guy.

I love supporting new projects, people with a dream, a vision, and a goal...

People looking to make an impact and who are cause driven...

Take a risk and a gamble on people...

Playing it safe is safe... but it is still risky because you will not put yourself out there...and sometimes, often times, putting yourself out there will really take you to some special places...

So many of the relationships I have are because I said YES...

I have been reading many articles lately that promote people saying NO.. and I fundamentally disagree unless you are burnt out, charred, and just do not have the energy... 

In that case, stay home.

Rest, recover, heal... and then get ready to say YES once you are back and ready to get in the growth game...

By saying YES, I was able to meet some great people here in Puerto Rico, and truly make an impact on some great kids that are chasing a dream...

I am here because I was them...

I still am them...

I still embody that dreamer, chaser, go get it mentality and spirit...

I will always be there for the kids and the people that see something bigger than themselves....

So should you.

Take the chance.

Say YES.

It will never be forgotten....
