Yesterday, I had an awesome interview on The Becoming a Champions Show with Leigh Anne Tuohy.
Who the heck is that Coach?
Well, if you remember a few years back, there was a movie that came out called The Blind Side with Sandra Bullock.
Sandra Bullock actually played Leigh Anne and the movie was based on her story and how she adopted NFL football player Michael Oher.
In addition to being very charitable, she and her husband Sean own over 80 franchise restaurants throughout the US as a part of the Yum Brands organization (taco bell, kfc, pizza hut, long john silvers).
She was a real fire-ball and what I loved most about the sit down with her was this line:
"You have to get in the game."
She went on to say, " In our house, we teach our kids you can either stand on the sidelines or get in the game- we teach our kids to get in the game. Doing nothing is not a box we allow our family and our friends to check."
What brought this up was our discussion on how many individuals out there are just afraid to get in the game.
Whether it be starting a business, making a big sales pitch, or even being charitable.
The key to life is getting in the game and embracing failure and the potential for it.
Forgetting perfection and instead choosing action.
Leigh Anne also talked about addressing "unhealthy and negative" people that we may have in our lives....
"There is no place for them- smother them with positivity. You must be positive in life- unapologetically positive."
She is right.
We get so down.
So many around us get down.
I do believe it is critical that we get up and make a decision each day to win, to be positive, to see the opportunity vs. the opposition.
If you have been stuck for a long time, make today for your day.
If you have been getting great results, keep on running, keep on challenging yourself.
Look at life as a sports game- get prepared, get trained, and play to win.
Have fun with it.
I always say: "Passion and pressure can not thrive together. Elevate your passion and it will smother out the pressure."
We must enjoy the journey.
You all should know by now I am a no B.S. person/ coach....
But I do believe we have to train our mind to have fun and always be on the hunt for opportunity....
That is what "getting in the game" is all about....
Today, whatever project, idea, or work you have had on the sidelines, today is the day for you to jump in.
Go make it happen.
