Well.. the edits to my new book, Habits of a Champion, are now complete!
Wow... what a process...
Kicked my butt mentally & physically...
The past few days I have been dealing with forearm and hand discomfort...
Why?
Excessive stress from typing, the mouse, and overusing my cell-phone texting, scrolling, and emailing...
Crazy, right?
But, most would panic...
What is going on? Should I run to the doctor? What should I do?
I want you to understand the mechanism and origins of pain...
1. Overuse- stress- repetitive movements, postures, and positions...
2. The nerve is being squeezed by over-active muscles as a result of #1
Simple.
That is pain.
Pressure and squeezing on a nervedue to tight tissue that is adapting and remodeling around a stressed area...
Remember that.
So, how do we release tissue? Heat, massage, trigger point therapy are great options and show to work the best...
Notice how I did not include stretching first?
You must inhibit and get the tissue to relax so you can maximize a stretch...
You can not stretch a tight/ locked muscle group...
So next time you are dealing with "something".. think posture, positioning, stress, and overuse.... then think about tissue, pressure, and nerve entrapment / squeezing...
