Hey Team....

Usually when I write....it is from a local coffee joint....

As I have told you, coffee was nearly one step away from being "dripped" into me over the past few years.... 

Not because I loved it... but, well, I was somewhat "addicted" to it...

You know, the routine of it.

The smell, the taking the first sip... blah blah blah.....

But, what coffee also did was give me cravings....

Can you relate?

I would always crave something sweet...

Now, 9 out of 10 times, well.. more like 5 out of 10 times my will power would allow me to resist... but the other 5 times, that fresh croissant or mini "bran" muffin would find it's way onto the dish....

I figured, hey, it's the morning, I will burn it off...

But the reality is this...

It is hard to "burn it off"... along with your 3 other meals....

SO, everything we eat matters....

It all matters...

Those fly-bys where you just "grab a bite" or "have a taste"... 

Yeah, they add up.

The calories add up.

You see, gaining and losing weight is still based on the formula of CALORIES IN VS. CALORIES OUT.

And, for most, there are much more calories in than calories out...

SO, those small or large daily surpluses, well, they add up over time.

Just eating 100 extra calories per day * that small 100 calorie nabisco snack* that can lead to heavy weight gain when you forecast out over 6 months, 12 months, and a few years...

There is no wonder that people gain a steady 5-10lbs. over a 5 year period..

Then, they wake up and say, "HEY, What the hell happened to me?"....

It happens.

It is very real.

But, you can hit the brakes at any time.

You just need a plan.

You need accountability.

And, you need to realize that IT ALL MATTERS...

And, most people are addicted to Carbs & Coffee... 

Hey, it tastes good...

But, over time, they are not your friend :)

Hey Dana, I sing in Naked Truth with your dad…I’ve known him for over 30 years..hard to believe, anyway, I follow you and your advice… I have learned that if I cut out what I call complex carbs (bread, pasta, rice) the pounds come off…not easy…but works. Im not as active as I like since I have a back issue…but still sing and dance….I still eat fruit which I heard is also a carb…what is your take on ingesting fruit- or should that also be cut? I appreciate all your advice. thanks!
