Hi Team...

There is a saying in the military, more specifically the Marines:

Embrace The Suck.

I am sure many of you have heard this before....

But today, I want to play on that a bit by saying....

Embrace the Stuck.

Yup.

Have you ever felt stuck?

Stuck in your life, career, results, and maybe some relationships?

 

Well, if you have, this is very common.

I come across this quite a bit as I coach people...

They are suffering from low levels of arousal as it relates to their life and some  facets of life mentioned above (career, relationships, environments)...

It is actually very common amongst higher performers...

And when it happens to the high performer, they often freak out.

 

They do this "freak out" by putting IMMENSE pressure on themselves because for the first time in their life they feel like they are failing, or, falling behind the pack they have spent their life leading or chasing.

When they get to this place of stuck, it sucks.

But, the suck is most often the result of us trying to power through it as opposed to seeing the lessons in it.

If you are in this place, I want to remind your of something:

You are supposed to be in this place... at this moment in time.

I also want to tell you that this situation is not permanent.

Unless you get so down on yourself that you begin to see it as such.

Being in "the stuck" is a moment in time where your compass is pointing not north, south, east, or west, but UPWARD at you....

Your compass has brought you to the place where you need to take inventory on yourself.

It is time for you to ask:

What do I really need?

What do I really want?

And here is the thing- although you will naturally default to all the things you THINK you want, OR to the things you think you should be based on the input of others, you most likely do not really want any of those things.

What you want is a break so you can get yourself right and actually start doing the things you want to do, *in the way you want to do them!

What you want is to regenerate, rejuvenate, and revitalize yourself after years of building, chasing, growing, grinding and being in pursuit of your dream, which is really just a sense of safety and security.

Once you have proven to yourself that you have those things, or enough of them, what happens innately to most is that they give themselves permission to dial back just a bit (for some it is such a small dial back it is unnoticeable) and they start to feel some of the emotions they have pushed away or worked to blow through in their pursuit of safety and security...

This time of stuck could also be a time where you are protecting yourself from yourself- or from some toxic environments you were/are working in, living in, or for some toxic people you were working for....

What I want to tell you today is this:

Life is a series of sprints... and if you think about what a sprint requires, it is a burst over a certain distance followed by time to recover.

So, if you are reading this today and are in the stuck, you sprinted, now you are recovering.

The amount of recovery needed can be based on the distance and time of your sprint...

Some of you have been sprinting for 2,3,4,5 decades....and you wonder why you are taking a short pause, or, wondering why you are not in peak mental and physical shape....

I will tell you the secret to breaking out of the S(T)UCK...

STOP TRYING TO.....

And, follow that with a 100% commitment to your health (mind, body, spirit)....

Make your focus your health with a focus on physical exercise, nutrition, stretching/ massage, hot soaks, breathing, and mental conditioning with a good coach....

When you do this day in and day out... you will begin the process of regeneration and your next move will begin to present itself... 

You will be EXCITED again instead of just a burnt out hamster on a wheel going through the motions doing what you have always done....

Remember: When Your Passion is UP, Your Pressure Will Naturally Be Down!
