Do you know how many people have come from nothing and made it all the way to the top?
Do you know how many people live each day in fear trying not to lose what they have and live in a state of constant angst about their future safety and security?
Do you know how many people live each day with a knowingness, faith, and belief that they are going to do amazing things?
As a Coach, I have realized that living in fear, trying not to lose, and trying to be perfect does not discriminate against rich, poor, race, education level, or title.
I have coached CEOs of fortune 500 companies that share the same fears as a high schooler.
I have coached hedge fund managers and managing partners in the private equity space that are at the top of their game who share the same fears as somebody who is in their first internship.
Get the point?
Status, title, and finances does not make somebody immune to a certain pattern of thought.
What does make somebody immune to a certain pattern of thought is the commitment they have toward: Thinking Different
You see, we typically think in patterns.
This is why reactions are so predictable.
Think about the relationships you have in your life.
I am sure you know just how some of those relationships would respond if you gave them certain news.
Oftentimes this is because that person is used to your delivery and way of delivery- but, they are also conditioned to think a certain way.
So, how do we change the way we think?
Well, we have to consciously change our inputs.
And, we need to follow that by changing our language.
Typical Input (thought): I need more clients if I am going to be financially stable and free. Are we going to have enough money this month to pay the bills?
Typical Language: I have to get a new client this month. I always struggle to find new clients.
Now, you can see how the thought can validate the language and then the language validates the thought.
This is where the danger starts.
By connecting this way- we are creating stronger, negative connections.
Let's use the same example in a more productive format:
New Input (thought):I always get the clients I need- as as result my business gets stronger and stronger. But, my finances do not define WHO I am
New Language: There are so many people out there for me to help. Today, I am going to find one!
Do you see the contrast?
Typical inputs are build on what we are trying to avoid.
New inputs are based on what we are working to build and become.
Think about your typical inputs and write some of them down.
When you are able to catch your typical patterns of thought, you can then rewrite/ rescript them in your mind, then through language to match your desired outcomes.
To some this may seem like a load of crap- but I am telling you it is not.
What you believe you conceive.
That statement goes both ways.
If you dream of disaster- it will find you.
If you dream of elevation- it will find you.
You MUST catch your patterns of thought so you can begin thinking differently.
I believe there is not stronger way to do this than by writing down your STATEMENTS OF POWER.
These are 3-5 statements that you actually write- not type that give you strength and power.
Repeat those over and over and over.
You will begin to think differently.
The issue for most is they do not make the time and do not schedule it.
