Hey Team! 

Hope you had a great weekend....

The weather was amazing here in New York so I spent most of the weekend outside... walking, hiking, running, and just hanging out... also doing some yard work for therapy blowing the massive amount of acorns that have been falling!

Some people completely delegate their yard work.. but I actually find a lot of value in being outside and working with my hands...

Anyway... I wanted to talk with you today about running...

How many of you love to run?

Probably not many.

How many of you despise running?

Probably most.

I believe the negative mindset surrounding running start when we are kids and are forced to line up and run for time... usually orchestrated by our gym teachers...

Usually the Presidential Fitness test for most Americans is the first time the activity of running goes from fun to structured.... 

As kids.. we all know running is a true passion... an unaware passion... but still something most kids love to do.. especially after ice cream trucks...

Then, one day, what was once a passionate activity becomes something of true hate...

And that disgust for running usually goes all the way though adulthood...

But what if that could change?

What if you could love running again?

What if you were able to truly appreciate the value running has on your mind, body, and overall energy?

I want to share with you a few of the benefits of running:

  1.  Decreased Body- Fat
  2.  Improved Cardiovascular Efficiency and Cardiac Health/Function
  3.  Better Energy
  4. Improved Circulation
  5. Stress Reduction
  6.  Increased Metabolism
  7.  Improved Lower Body Strength
  8.  Increased Overall Endurance
  9.  Higher Bone Density
  10.  Greater Muscle Tone

Amazing right?

And you do not have to run the NYC Marathon to get these benefits.

Start simple.

Get back in the race again.

Just training yourself, if you are a non-runner, to run for 30 seconds straight.. then rest for full-recovery and repeat that 5-10 times is a great start...

For those who are runners.. timing your distance and working to improve your times.. starting with your 1/4 mile time is a great start...

You will start to see the benefits after your first few sessions... and you will see that running becomes easier the more you do it...

Just make sure you are starting slowly... and are being progressive.. to avoid stress fractures...

If you are not sure on how much running to do, or where to start your running journey... just ask... or you can hire a coach to get you started... 

I find that most people that have been out of the running game for a while... and are now chronic elliptical or bike people just need to be coached back in the game...

So get started. Take the first step. You will really be amazed at the transformation...

The hardest part is the commitment phase... just have a talk with your-self.. focus on the benefits... and get yourself going 3 days per week... start by committing to just 1-month...12 sessions... you will really be excited about the results.. and I hope you can share them with me!
