Hi Team.....

Last night, I went to dinner with our neighbors... who are actually about 80 years old... so that makes them very wise :)

We went to a sports bar.... had a lot of laughs... and then when I got home, Boom, I turned on some college basketball to watch my team play....

The Kentucky Wildcats...

Now, I went to the University of South Florida... and am a Bull at heart... but over the years I have really fallen in love with the style of play and the style of coaching of Coach Calipari and the Big Blue, The Kentucky Wildcats...

What attracts me?

#1- They are winners....

#2- They are competitive every year.....

#3- Well, there has been a lot of talk lately about how Coach Cal leads his team....

Ready for this, he really doesn't.

What?

Then he is not a Leader....

On the contrary my friends....

He runs a PLAYER-LED TEAM...

A PLAYER-DRIVEN TEAM as he likes to call it....

His players lead themselves....

They work together, compete together, and because their bond is so tight and their objectives are so clear, well, they also police each other as well.

This is a style of Leadership that shows true trust, support, belief, and one in which the "appointed Leaders ego" is definitely in check....

Could you do this in your Organization? With your team?

Give them the "power" when your name is on the line?

I mean, after all, Coach Calipari is making about $8 Million/ Year.. and now he is not even leading?

Very interesting.

Do not forget who he is leading.....

College kids.

GEN Z.

Children of the phone generation....

The group after Millennials....

These are groups that are considered IMPOSSIBLE to lead....

And he is allowing them to lead themselves...

I have spoken about this at many Conventions/ Conferences/ Corporate Retreats...

Many Leaders today are still leading from the Dictator Frame of Mind....

When today, the players, your people are much more collaborative....

Player- Driven Coaching shows that your players are not being "told what to do" all of the time, but, they have a say... and therefore they own the results.

After all, it is not your decisions that are exclusively leading the team, it is theirs.

So, what Player-Driven Coaching allows for is accountability at the player, team level.

Very cool.

Their A$$ is on the line too!

Not just yours!

Make sense?

How can you be more of a PLAYER-DRIVEN Leader?

What are a few things you can do differently to become this type of Leader?

Remember, it begins with you have the confidence and trust to "let-go" of control, while empowering your team with that energy instead.

Let's GO!

Your Coach,
