Hi Team....

There is a great quote from old time baseball great Yogi Berra that says, "There is a fork in the road, take it."

In honor of one of my all time favorites to talk with and train, Yogi, today, I want you to take the fork in the road. (more to come)....

There are choices we all make- actually thousands per day.

Some leave us feeling good.

Some leave us feeling amazing.

Some leave us feeling guilty.

Now, what if you were able to make more of the ones that make you feel amazing?

Not amazing because of the high of a cigarette, or the because of the liberation of drinking booze, but amazing because of each choice you make throughout the day...

Wouldn't that be amazing?

Hear me out- that fork in the road goes one of two directions....

Fork 1: Takes you down the path of freedom through positive decisions, positive interactions, and liberation because of your focus on A+ Character....

Fork 2: Takes your down the path of freedom through negative decisions, using vices to get there, and doing what feels good in a hedonistic way....

I believe that a life lived honoring the basics will take you where it is you are supposed to go, and, leave you liberated and feeling amazing....

Coach, what are the basics?

Well, let me share them with you!

  • Do what you say you are going to do.
  • Show up when you say you are going to show up.
  • Treat people well.
  • Smile.
  • Be honorable, faithful, and honest.
  • Do not be deceitful, dishonest, and disrespectful.
  • Say thank you.
  • Hold doors for people.
  • Take pride in how you look because your presentation strengthens you internally.
  • Seek only internal validation, be gracious when you hear it genuinely from an external source.
  • Smile.
  • Be excited for life- do not let the pressure you place on yourself get to you (it means nothing).
  • Let people know when you can not make an appointment.
  • Dress for success.
  • Make all those you interact with feel better after the interaction than before.
  • Be Yourself- but work everyday on bringing your best self to the table and let the weaker parts of you die off from lack of focus on them.
  • Remember, your character is everything... work on it daily.

I put this list together because all of the above when practiced daily will elevate your overall character. 

You see, there is a great myth going on right now.

That myth is that success = high character or worse, success = somebody to admire and emulate. 

This simply is not true.

There is a dialogue around success today that needs to be addressed.

Where you live, the car you drive, the cash in the bank does not mean shit.

Coach, are you serious with that?

YUP.

And here is why.

For years- I have coached people first hand that have all of those things but are missing something that can not buy.

That something is trust.

Trust in themselves.

Trust that it will all be ok.

Trust that they will be ok.

Trust that they do not have to prove anything to anybody.

Trust.

And the only way to gain trust is through the strengthening of ones character.

A deep down knowingness that one "did the right thing."

When you have character, you have trust.

This is why that list above is so important.

Today, as you go through your day, you will very easily see those who have TRUST and CHARACTER and those who struggle- no matter how the external looks or appears. Or, how successful they tell you they are.

Success to man or woman comes when they have trust and character.

Take the fork that weakens you and you will never have trust or strong character.

Take the for the strengthens you and you will have not only trust and character, but a faithful knowingness that you are doing great and are headed down the right road.

Stay strong.

Take the right fork in the road.

Let's go.

Be great.
