Hey Team--

Coach Dana Cavalea here!

Hope you all had a great weekend!

I know I did.. but my mindset was definitely tested!

With a wisdom tooth and a swollen face!

I thought these sort of issues did not exist past your mid twenties... kind of like acne.

BUT..

I was wrong.. so dealing with a swollen face last week and this weekend was not cool.. but when you are dealing with discomfort and pain... it can really test your mind and mindset...

It is easy to see why those that deal with daily pain are always looking for immediate relief.. pain is draining.

In life.. there are 2 types of pain.. physical and mental...

Things can become really bad when those 2 collide... so we need to do our best to control our controllable (s)..

Use the tooth for example.. outside of getting that sucker yanked (which will happen this week).. I could not control that pain...

But.. I could control my reaction to it..

My strategy... Acceptance..

I can't fight my circumstance.. 

If I do.. I will be in double the pain... and wasting usable energy..

My mental state instead went to:

I have a flared tooth. It is bothering me. I will deal with it come Monday. Now go live your life.

What do you have going on in your "thought" life that is taking away from your vitality?

 

Before answering, remember this... you have 2 levels of thought:

(1)- Your conscious and topical thoughts..

(2)- Your subconscious.. or buried thoughts...

Subconscious are very dangerous if left unaddressed... they usually the:

I am not good enough...

I am not as good as so and so...

What if....

I can't do that because...

And are usually what is said after every "BUT" statement...

I wish I could... BUT...

Mindset is everything... that is why it is my first Driver of Performance...

Although.. when somebody is struggling to break a certain mindset pattern.. that is when we use the TRAINING driver to change the bodies chemistry... often times leading to an easier, less resisted change of mindset...

(fatigue the body, open the mind)

So.. as we head into this week.. I want you to consciously take a few pauses each day to see where your MINDSET is.. positive or negative.. 

What are you subconsciously telling yourself?

This is a simple but effective awareness strategy... 

You will probably see how unconscious you really are... due to tech..
