Another week is in the books... how did you do?
I know for me... this was a good week... not great... but good!
Coach, what do you mean?
Well.. there are a few things that really drive me crazy and they all seemed to happen this week....
I wanted to share them with you.. cool?
The #1 thing that gets me crazy is when people do not respond...
Doesn't that drive you nuts?
I mean honestly, how hard is it to respond?
Let me tell you what not responding shows:
Do you know what else drives me nuts?
People that say they are going to do something and then do not do it!
That shows they are not people of their word...
If you do not plan on doing it, don't say it!
Do you know what else gets me nuts?
Chronic rescheduling.
Yup.
People that set an appointment and just keep missing or rescheduling...
And, when the above is coupled with the no call, no email, no text.. that drives me nuts!
Finally, do you know the last two things that drives me nuts?
People that do not say thank you...
And...
People that can literally walk by you without saying HI!
Say thank you...
Say hi...
Respond!...
It all matters.
Earlier this week, I recorded a podcast that talks about knowing yourself...
Now I know the above sounds like a rant (and it is)....but what I have realized through the years is that many of the acts above are not intentional... they are not done out of spite...
They are actually done as a result of having too much on your plate and because of a lack of true awareness of self....
Most people have no idea how their words and actions effect others...
They have no idea that there may be somebody on the other end waiting to hear back on something...
That something may actually make somebodies year...
Think about if you are in sales..
WE are in the 4th Quarter..
The salesperson writes up the proposal.. puts in time, puts in passion.. and fires it over in a timely manner.... The salesperson is pumped and excited...
Then, one week goes by, two weeks goes by, three weeks... nothing. No contact. No call backs. No email response.
Salesperson begins to question their year.....
Get the point?
People need you to respond.
Do it.
