Last night I was doing weekly call with my buddies Kevin Wilson, MLB Hitting Consultant, and Jason Phillips, former MLB Pitcher....
This is a leadership call we do each week to hold each other accountable...
Last night, we started talking about "what can really hold us back" in life...
And, we broke it down to about 5-things...
Only 5-things can hold you back from greatness...
Yup.
Thats about it.. (outside of a few stragglers)
1. Failure...
2. Death...
3. Getting Hurt Physically or Emotionally...
4. Loss... losing a family member or a relationship...
5. Judgement.. from others and God...
Thats it...
So, when you feel hesitant to do something.. or you feel "afraid".. or "not good enough".. realize.. it is due to one of the 5-things mentioned above..
It will always fall into one of those 5 boxes...
Thats it.
You see, most people never put it on paper..
What the fear is, and what is the worst thing that can happen....
Our desire to "protect" ourselves from the BIG 5 is really what could be costing us everything... especially since #1-#5 are completely inevitable...
As a type A, high analysis person, much like the clients I work with, it is important to break things down in "simple yet real" terms...
Thats it.
5-Things Stop You.
Maybe it is just 1 thing...
But, the most it could be is 5.
Now that you understand that....
Time to start "realizing" in the moment which number is stopping you... and deploy strategies to overcome....
Simple.
