Hi Team...

Over the last few years, both coaching and interviewing some of the most successful people in business, finance, music, entertainment, sports and leadership- I found a common thread amongst the best of the best...

It is a really simple thing that has become much harder to do these days....

And, the amazing thing is, it requires only time...

Nothing else.

Are you ready for it?

Here it is....

They sit in silence daily and think....

Yup.

That is it.

It actually is so important that for many it is either the first thing or the last thing they do each day....

No phone.

No laptop.

No tv.

Just quiet time to think.

And, as a matter of fact, many of these individuals that participate in this activity are some of the happiest, most under-leveraged people I know....

Which means, they are not reactive....

And, as a result, they are very present....

How about you?

Do you feel quiet and calm?

Do you make time for silence each day?

Or, is your day and life like the Decathlon...

One event to the next...and suddenly you are wondering where the day has gone?

Then, the alarm rings and you are back at it again until there is an interruption in your routine known as Saturday.....or, the weekend.

Does that sound like you?

If it does, you are not alone.

That is most people.

Most people that have forgotten the Power of Silence....

The power and clarity that comes to one when they are unplugged and actually not stimulated...

Some of the greatest Coaches in sports history, like John Wooden and Lou Holtz would talk about how they grew up on farms and found loves for poetry and other simple things....

The benefit they had was there were no 24-7 news cycles, social media, or other mind traps...

Well, if we truly want to have mind and thought clarity, we have to get back there...

We have to go analogue for a portion of the day....

Pens, Pencils, Notepads....

Phone calls over text messaging....

Reading over watching...

Real Conversation.

If we can begin to get back to the simple, we can actually re-stimulate our minds for fresh thought, creativity, better decision making, and, ultimately better results aka success.

So, today, join me just before bed and take a good 30-minutes- 1hr. unplugged..

This is not meditation...

This is sitting and thinking....pondering, deciding... and/or just taking in the silence...

Do this over and over and you will find yourself sleeping better but most importantly living better!
