Yesterday I did a talk for Keller Williams Realty.....
It was an inspirational and motivational talk about "taking action"...
As we all know, without action, there is no progress.
I let them know though, there are different levels of Action.
I wanted to share those levels with you today.
No Action: Well, simply this is taking NO Action- or being lazy, making excuses, saying you want something but not actually wanting to do what it takes to get that something (also known as a talker, or, a dreamer)
Not Enough Action: Sometimes we take action, just not enough of it. We quit because our results aren't what we want them to be- so we quit and take new actions before our "actions" actually begin to work and drive a result. Or, we just do not take enough action because we tell ourselves we do not have enough time, energy, money, or whatever else we can trick ourselves into believing.
The Wrong Action: Next, we have taking the wrong actions, or, actions that do not get us closer to goal. Think about sitting on social media and looking at everyone else. Or, taking classes, courses, reading on a subject for months and years on end but never taking action towards goal. We are taking action, just not the right action. Or, maybe we are taking actions that are relative to goal, but they are low or no yield actions. We can do them all we want, but they will never show fruit.
Too Much Action: As bad as taking no action, not enough action, or the wrong action is taking too much action! Coach, how can you take too much action? Well, have you ever tried to do too much at once? I am sure you have- we all have. And, the higher the ambition that you have- the greater the chances of you trying to do too much. Too much action is dangerous. It often spreads us thin, burns us out, and can kill our mojo.
So, what do we do?
How do we take the right actions, the right amount of action, and keep ourselves moving towards goal?
These are the 3-5 things you do everyday to keep you even, aligned, healthy, and moving towards goal. These are high yield, fundamental actions that are directly related to you feeling amazing, and, keeping you doing work that is 100% aligned to goal and actions that are high yield when done day in and day out.
I put them in a bullseye and the day is built around them.
These actions in the bullseye, like stretching and throwing and hitting in baseball are you fundamental daily activities that matter most and deliver the highest return on time, energy, and efforts.
