Hey Team!

Well, after a great trip to Florida, I was greeted with about a foot of snow here in New York... talk about one extreme to the other!

The only good part about the snow though is you have a day to sit at home, rest, relax, recover and get some work done for your crew!

With that, I wanted to share with you a discussion I had on an interview I did the other day...

The host asked me about WINNING.. and how to become SUCCESSFUL in sports, life, and business...

This is going to be the theme of my new book, BECOMING A CHAMPION which comes out later this spring...

I went on to answer him with 3 words:

CONFIDENCE, EGO, & PRIDE.

These are 3 words that have become totally taboo in today's culture..

We are afraid of them.. and afraid to embrace them..

We have no issue discussing success...

And mindfulness, gratitude, balance, and individualism..

But these 3 words are scary..

Coming from sports though, in order to win, and beat the competition (and yourself).. you need to compete.

When you play a sport with a 1 on 1 element, Me vs. You or Me. vs. Me, it takes a certain level of competitive confidence to WIN and beat the other person.. same is true in life and business ... (especially for the Type A hustler)..

Confidence.. is nothing more than having a belief in yourself..

This is critical..

If you don't believe in yourself.. who else will?

Ego.. not a bad thing when balanced with levels of giving and humility..

Think about how dangerously vulnerable somebody would be during competition if they had zero ego... (and the reality is this.. many who condemn the word ego, actually have rather large egos... ego is an innate human response)...

And finally PRIDE.. again, often seen has a bad word.. but Pride is healthy.. you should have pride in what you do..

You should have pride in your presentation and how you go about your business..

All good things...

Every winner I have ever met has that sparkle in their eye. They radiate confidence..

They have only one way of doing things..

The right way.. The prideful way...

So next time you are feeling down, or out of sync..

Check your Confidence, Ego, and Pride.. and give them a healthy boost through positive self talk, incantations of "I Can" "I Will" " I am on top of my game", a high intensity workout, and a positive visualization session of yourself succeeding...

That is the Power of 3...

That is a Winning Formula..

That is how you Become a Champion...

Now Let's Go Get It!
