Hi Team...
I hope you had a great weekend...
I wanted to address something today...
Many of you know that I usually write to you "daily" but this year it has been less frequent....
So, I wanted to address this....
I have been spending more time on LinkedIn writing daily- and to be honest, I have felt a 2-3x per week cadence to work well on writing to you....
If I am wrong though- let me know!
Today, I wanted to talk to you about one of my favorite things to study: LANGUAGE.
When we think about language, most people think of "how one speaks" and that is exactly how to look at it.
But there is more- we can look at it as a relationship:
How One Speaks x The Results One Gets.
I have found there are a few different types of people out there...
1. Overly positive --> average results....
2. Positive --> great results....
3. Negative ---> great results....
4. Negative ---> bad results....
You can be negative, angry, frustrated, and pissed and still win financially....
It happens all the time...
The problem with this formula is you will not be happy... think Scrooge.
Then, there are those who are really positive, they are really happy, but have a little lingering frustration that they can do more but are not doing more... they get average results...
Then, there are those who are negative and because they are so horrible to be around and they see nothing but negativity (kind of like the town our farm is in).. they get horrible results and have really bad attitudes.....
And lastly, there is the person who is positive, convicted, and strong willed who through their own beliefs and the evidence they have created have great results and they are happy.
What I have found in coaching this last group is that they are the best because through their language, they have developed a very positive and healthy viewpoint on things, even their problems.
They are masters of language.
They are believers at their core that things will alway be ok.
They have tremendous trust in themselves and their teams.
They have a strength to them that one just feels.
They are the standard....
It is language that helps them be this standard...
So, today, study your language...
Study how many times you go dark, go negative vs. how many times you stay strong and speak from a place of strength about you, your teams, your situation.
You can be real and still be strong.
The way to win is through your mouth and by what you say to yourself.
