Well, last night was certainly eventful.
We were out in the pastures on the farm at about 5pm- and we saw a new born baby calf, freezing.
So, we had to get bales of hay, towels and blankets to bring him back to life...
It was freezing out there- about 0 degrees and time was of the essence.
I am happy to report he made it! Then, about a few hours later- we had a pig deliver piglets.
It was a long night but a victorious one.
With that, I can not tell you how many times due to the severe cold I wanted to quit.
Go inside where it is warm- and just be "comfortable"...
But, I would not allow it.
The cold, the wind, and the passing snow.
Because this was my path. This was the path I chose- and when you choose a path in life, let nothing / nobody get in the way of your achievements of what it is you set out to do.
A few days ago I had a great conversation with a CEO I coach who is setting up to sell his company and he has many people in his ear....
"You should do this... You should do that.... blah, blah, blah"
In life you must hear your own voice and trust your gut instincts.
The problem today is there is so much noise and so much influence that finding your own voice and hearing yourself think and feeling your gut can be more challenging than ever.
This is why each day you must make time to find your own place of peace.
It can be through training/ exercise, it can be through reading, it can be through scheduled times to think, or quiet time.
Whatever works for you.
There are no one size fits all models.
Don't believe there is.
A lot of people will tell you what to do and how you should do it- but you must find your way.
When I coach individuals and leaders- I never tell them what to do...
I help them discover for themselves their best path..
That is great coaching.
My way is not your way- your way is your way.
Now you must find trust and conviction in that path.
I recorded a podcast on this yesterday.
It is all about confidence and today many do not make the time to enhance their own confidence.
But you must.
And it happens by getting clear in your mind.
Take the time.
Remember: more is not the answer, speed is not the answer when it comes to clarity and a quiet mind.
Take it in.
One thought at a time.
