Hi Team...

We made it to Friday....

That means the weekend is in front of us...

A time to rest, relax, recharge- not go for gold.

Coach, but I am not good at that?

Well, many high performers struggle with rest, recovery, and unplugging at certain points of their career... until they realize just how important it is and how it renews them each week.

I want to introduce a hashtag to you that I came up with...

#READYFORMONDAY

It simple means this...

During the week I am All-In, 100% ON.

On the weekend, I am off.

Now, that does not mean you have to be totally, 100% off on the weekend.

(Personally, I like to write on the weekend)

It means you can do some work, if you desire, but it must be creative or very low friction work.

Or, you can do nothing on the weekend outside of exercise, family time, social time with friends, reading, and sport/ recreation.

I am writing this because there is a belief that one has to work 24-7 to be successful and it simply is not true.

There is a time for work and a time for rest- both are critical to the success process.

Far too often I see leaders, business owners, and employees over-working and giving their personal time away.

Play that out over a few years and you have burnout, lost passion, irritability, etc.

Got it? Maybe you have been one of these people.

I know that I have.

When I decided to take my weekends- and use them strategically everything changed.

Now, I look forward to the weekends- not because I am lazy, but because they provide me something different than the work week.

They provide me time to gather, regroup, recharge, engage, and to let-go.

But when I first started this, I struggled.

Being in Major League Baseball, we worked during the week, weekends, holidays, you name it.

No days off for coaches for 9-months.

And, in the off-season we were on-call.

So, the end result was you were always walking around a bit charred.

This killed creativity, passion, and excitement.

3-Ingredients that are most responsible for success and growth when combined with work-ethic and a great idea/plan/ strategy.

So, do not give your weekends away to work (unless you do not have a Mon-Fri schedule)

Make sure you are giving yourself at least 24-hours per week to chill and not be responsible to anybody or anything but yourself and your family.

So, so, important.

Now, it is Friday.

The week is not over.

Go out and win today.

Let's go.
