Over the past few weeks I have gotten a lot of questions about the topic of: SLEEP!
It is definitely an important one.. and one that often times goes unaddressed.
What are some of the reasons I have been hearing why people can't sleep?
2. Racing Mind.
3. Restless Legs.
4. Energy Surges at Night.
5. Waking up multiple times per night to use the bathroom, or just "because"...
Now, I want to burst some bubbles.
You should be able to sleep.
It is an innate human response.
When you are NOT ABLE TO SLEEP, realize it is often times something you are doing, or something that has been done to you.
Meaning, you are either abusing yourself by being out of balance, or there is some level of traumayou have had in your life that is giving the effects of PTSD.
Insomnia? Same deal.
The body naturally wants to fall asleep, stay asleep, and wake up rested.
Lifestyle and Trauma can interrupt that NATURAL Process.
We all know it too.
We know that we work too many hours.
We know that we are on our phones, laptops, desktops, tv's, and tablets too long.
We know that we are ALWAYS ON and prefer being on to being OFF.
With this, we are our own problem often times.
Self induced pressure, deadlines, timelines, promising on things we would like to deliver on but know we can not because we have a full boat already...
Over-scheduling and over-committing ourselves.
These are all SLEEP-KILLERS.
If you want to be successful long term, from family to business to overall health, you MUST get your sleep.
The best athletes in the World make Sleep their #1 focus outside of playing...
So should you.
Clear bed time.
Clear time to rise.
Repeat. Repeat. Repeat.
The body does not like surprises.
It does not like an inconsistent bedtime and wake schedule.
It loves consistency.
Give it what it loves and it will give you back 10-fold.
Now, let's get serious about our sleep.
