Hey Team..

Happy Friday!

I know you had an amazing week.....so let's get down to business!

Speaking of business...

Have you ever tried to do everything?

Maybe you have so many ideas and so many things "to do" that ultimately you always feel like you are either falling behind, failing, or frankly just not good enough at your job/ work/ leadership role....

Can you relate?

I know that I can...

Sometimes, my boat just takes on water....

It starts to fill, and my ship feels like its sinking a bit.....

Then the light bulb goes off... I am off course....

I am navigating my ship into too many different territories at once... and that can be very dangerous...

Too many variables, too many questions, too many unknowns....

Off-Course.

What is the typical response to being off-course?

Panic. Squeeze. Pushing Harder. Worry. Fear. Indecision. Stress. Anxiety.

Listen, it plagues many of us.

Years ago, I was speaking with my good friend Kevin Plank, the CEO of Under Armour....

We were having lunch and he asked me about my business.

He said, "D- What is it that you do? What is it that you want to do?"

I answered, "Well, Kev, I want to open gyms, I want to run gyms in hotels, I want to outfit peoples homes with equipment-- all of it. That is my business.. But, at this moment, I am just Coaching the Yankees."

His response was classic, " No, I asked, what is IT that you DO?"...

I once again rattled off my B.S. list above... and at the moment the lightbulb went off...

I was really doing nothing.

Scattered.

Not focused.

Not clear.

No plan of attack.

Just thoughts, ideas, dreams, and confusion.

I sat in my car outside of the Under Armour Headquarters in Baltimore and stayed in silence for about 10 minutes. At that moment I made a decision :

I AM OPENING TRAINING STUDIOS AND AM BUILDING A FRANCHISE.

18 months later I built 5 studios, crystal clear clarity, confidence, no doubts.

The best part is, I never did this before and had no idea what I was doing, but everything was coming together and was working.

Until, I lost focus again and started doing something else while trying to build a Training Franchise.

You see, we always DO, TRY, and THINK too much.

Today's message is about FOCUSING on that thing.

That one thing that makes the magic happen for you.

Double down on it.

It will give you the greatest return and you will let it marinate long enough so it can taste and be great over time.

Time is the key.

If you are focused, have something that is working, then it may just need time and effort to become an unstoppable force.

Under Armour is a great example. 20% quarter over quarter growth until they decided to no longer become a T-shirt and shoe Company and started buying digital apps.

That stopped their growth.

What stops yours?

Let's GO.

Chase Greatness.
