Hi Team...

Happy Friday... the first week of March is in the books!

I hope you all are ready to win the first quarter.... 

Over the last few days I have been doing quite a bit of thinking about people that succeed at something vs. people that do not...

As I mentioned yesterday, my wife and I are doing a 21-day fast that takes away caffeine, alcohol, meat, sweets, and treats....

Takes it away.

Off the table.

Meaning: Can not have it!

And, you know what, when you know the rules of the game, you do not even crave what you can not have.

Much of life works the same way.

I think back to my days with the Yankees.

We worked 9-months straight with maybe 1-day off each month. And, that was a total maybe.

So, what happens?

Well, you take no days off.

The sniffles, your achy back, your fatigue... none of that matters.

You do not even consider making the call you can not come in to work...

I remember blowing a disc in my back, unable to really even walk, yet, come 4pm, I was stretching the players on the field before the game..


I had to.

The culture of our team and of sports said: There are no days off...

And, as a result, everybody adapted to that culture.

Yet, what I see in the real world is a lot of excuses that are made...

  • Blown off meetings.
  • Days off.
  • Shortened days.
  • People not calling others back.
  • People not responding to calls, texts, and emails.
  • Just excuses everywhere.

And, it gets me sick.

It is this same mentality that keeps people overweight.

It is the same mentality that keeps people from reaching their full potential.

A lack of true commitment is everywhere because there is too much choice.

When you take your choices away and commit to: THIS IS HOW I DO THINGS...

Then, the room adapts rather than you adapting to it.

When you take away choice, you train the body and mind to choose what is right.

We have too many choices and it is just to easy to make the bad ones..

So, if you are ready to get going on your life and results, take away your choices...


For example, I know when I get up, when I go to bed, when I work out, when I eat my first meal, when I eat lunch, when I eat dinner just about everyday +/ - 20-25minutes...

That is the consistency you need for excellence to enter into your life...

That can be further broken down to:

  • When I go out to eat, this is what I eat
  • This is what I eat for breakfast
  • This is what my workout is
  • This is what I eat for lunch/ dinner

For some, that rigidity gets you sick.

But, that rigidity will keep you firing at a fast clip for a long, long time with superior energy, superior health, and a dynamic can-do spirit....

Now, go take away some choices!

Let's go.

We are here to win 2021- no excuses...
