As you know, I love to quote great coaches....
I recently came across this great one from Nick Saban:
"If you want to make everyone happy, don't be a leader. Sell ice-cream."
Ain't that the truth.
You know what I see today?
I see people who want to be sold ice-cream.
One thing I appreciate about those I coach is that they are open- ready to work, ready to learn, ready to be pushed.
They have a very coachable personality and being...
But, I do have some that quit.
They start their coaching journey, I ride their ass and tell them what they need to hear, and then... they quit.
They want ice-cream.
Instead of realizing their efforts are horse-shit, instead of rising and bringing out their best- they quit because it is easy.. (ice-cream eating is easy)...
I see it all the time...
Those who excel and do great- they have thick skin, they are tough, they want to be the best and are willing to do what it takes..
Those who don't- well, they crumble like blue cheese.
Over time, their life starts to look like blue cheese- a fat mess.
I say this because I am so damn tired of watching people quit on themselves and not rise....
Demand that you RISE.
Be relentless and always be ready to do more, to do what is necessary, to do what the average will not do...
In sports, what I love is that you can not quit...
You play till the end and get a result..
If the result is good- you still get back to work.
If the result is not good- you still get back to work.
You see, it all takes work.
I love watching players, both young and old head out to the field early for early work- batting practice, fielding, working on the holes in their game with their coaches...
That is what winners do- they work.
They find the holes in their game and attack.
If they can not see the holes in their game- they get help, like hiring a coach.
You can not do it all yourself- so stop trying.
The goal is elevation and growth in all categories of your life- expect nothing less.
Build a team around you to make this happen... and do not quit.
Hold the line.
Do not quit.
Let' s go.
