I hope you had an awesome Holiday week- and New Years...
For me, I took some time to unplug and spend ZERO time in my office.
It was a place I took refuge from by spending some creative time writing my new book that will be coming out this spring/ summer: Stop Sucking, START Winning.
I had been thinking about writing this book since September and knew that the only time I would have to write it would be during those days between Christmas and New Years...
So, that is exactly what I did...
I gave myself that time and knocked it out!
What inspired this strategy is a tactic I use to get things done quickly..
It is called "sprinting"...
It is a tool that I have used for years to get projects done in a certain amount of time..
I actually learned this when coaching the Yankees and it was a tool I used to get MAX effort from players without wasting their time..
I realized that when I would condition players, if I said you have to run X- distance, they would do it but it would take forever...
They would take their time and work at a comfortable pace...
But, when I said you need to cover X- distance in X- time, their competitive spirit kicked up and the results were fantastic!
They got a lot done in a short period of time...
So, no matter what I have to get done, I apply this SPRINT principle and it really works to achieve big things- quickly.
