Hey Team-
So.. October 15th is my big day...
Another click on the age clock...
A chance for me to take the day for myself and really reflect on "where I am at."..
That is what I do every, single, year....
Most years I hit my goals...
Some years I miss...
But all in all.. I usually come out better than the year before in terms of how I feel about my life....
This year, I decided to focus on 3-Categories:
Stress.
Weight.
Impact.
These are my three most important categories as I head into year 36... or as my friend Mike Dusa says... Level 36....
Which would imply, I have 35 levels of completion, training, and lessons under my belt....
Over the past few years... I have dealt with elevated daily stress due to my attempts at opening a franchise- training facility brand... which I recently decided to close and sell.... Why?
Not a good fit for me. High stress. High daily management of others. High competition. Not enough reward for me. It was not my calling.
So.. once that was realized... it was definitely time to go....
Weight... when you are dealing with high stress... due to higher cortisol levels... you deal with weight gain... not that I ever stopped training.. but my body was not dumping weight because of the stress exposure...
So... once I eliminate the stress.... and focus on my daily workouts and recovery sessions, along with a low starch, high nutrient, higher protein diet... I am able to hit my weight goals (which are ambitious, high school weight of 195)....
And.. finally, IMPACT.
I thought my impact on others would come from my training facilities... but soon realized my passion has always been writing, speaking, and coaching (online and in-person events).....
So.. this year, that is what I am fully committed to. Impact.
Get my new book,
Habits of a Champion, in as many hands as I can... let people read my story, understand the journey (both ups and downs)... and use this as a tool to help them change their life.....
IMPACT. That is my goal. I need low stress, a healthy physique and mindset in order to maximize impact....
So.. when do not weight to January 1st to write your goals... use your birthday... then put them right in front of you each day.....
Process. Execute the process every day. Keep it simple. Enjoy the ride.
Realize what you are here to do and get your body and mind primed to do it!
