I hope you are doing great!
I wanted to share this quote with you from NY Yankees Manager, Joe Torre..
"My greatest talent is calmness and being positive. I concentrate on what you can do even in the worst of times. You don't judge today by last week's errors or lost opportunity"- Joe Torre, World Champion Manager
It hit home with me because as a high expectation person, sometimes it is very challenging to live in a state of calmness and always be positive.
But having worked with Joe, I know it is 100% possible.
It becomes more possible the more we truly trust ourselves.
The more we separate from how society wants us to think and how we are often programmed to think about words like: winning, success, achievement, growth.
Today, more than ever there is a pressure.
A societal pressure to succeed.
And- a very high personal pressure to succeed for many reasons.
One of those reasons is life is expensive.
The other reason is if you want to live a certain type of life, it is expensive.
It is not going to get cheaper- so the pressure you feel has only one direction to go, up.... if you let it.
That is the key.
Much like you accelerate your car, you have the same power within yourself.
How crazy are you going to get?
Or, are you going to finally learn to call a time-out, hit the pause button and redirect things?
One of the things I have to work on daily is being more optimistic.
I get so caught up in what has to get done- that I see it as a daily mountain to climb.
At the end of the day- I either climbed well or I did not...
Either way, I have to always work on shifting the perspective to my philosophy of:
HIT A SINGLE EVERY DAY.
Did what I accomplish today get me 1-step closer to where I want to go?
Am I moving forward?
Same as golf- are you hitting the ball closer to the pin or further away.
Instead of chasing perfect- what if we all just committed to moving forward.
Some days the steps are big- others they are small- but the direction matters.
I ensure this by working my daily hit list.
When I do these things, I move forward.
So, I must do those things!
You gotta have a way of tracking forward.
What is your way?
I know I have been mentioning it a lot lately, but in our Champions-30 Group, all are moving forward because we can measure weight-loss, we can measure attendance of our group sessions/ team meetings...
As a result, the GROUP moves forward and each individual moves forward...
If you want to move forward with our next Champions-30 Camp on May 16th- register below.
This was a recent quote from one of our team members this week!
"Coach, down from 210 to 205, in two weeks. Feeling the best I have in quite some time."
How about that for forward?
And this is from a guy that was already taking his health really seriously and is still making gains.
You can too...
I hope you will join us!
Remember, stay calm, stay positive and always be hitting your singles!
