One of my favorite things to study and learn about is "how" people do it....
How do they do what they do and did they get to where they are...
What attitudes, mindsets, and behaviors were needed to do something extraordinary?
Each week, on The Becoming a Champion Show,I interview some very interesting people.
From entrepreneurs, to entertainers, public leaders, to individuals I just find to be interesting!
It is a lot of fun.
Last week, I sat down with the founder of the DRYBAR- Alli Webb.
For those of you that live in big cities, you know the Drybar, especially the ladies that are on our team.
Alli shared her story with me- telling me that unlike many entrepreneurs, she never saw herself as an entrepreneur.
She just loved styling women's hair, starting off going house to house in Los Angeles doing blowouts as a side hustle as she was raising her kids.
Then, she got tired of running around and opened a studio in Brentwood, CA and it was a huge hit.
What I love about Alli and her story is that she never knew exactly what she wanted to do with her life and her career.
After trying many things- she found her passion, or, better yet, it found her. (always does)
I find this to be an important message today.
Many people I come across in my coaching journey are thinking about, or overthinking their next move, their next position, or starting their next company and are seeking max clarity right from the beginning.
I always let them know- it does not work that way.
Greater clarity is birthed each day you take an action in the direction of your pursuit.
The more you take action, the more clear you get.
That is really what mastery is, right?
SO, wherever you are in your journey...
Just starting out.
Pivoting and changing directions- just keep moving in the direction of what it is you are pursuing.
If you want to start a new business, decide on what problem you solve for others.
Then, pick a name for it.
Then, start telling people about it.
Over time, you will have a business.
Life is about taking sequential steps and oftentimes having trust and blind faith that all will work out- as long as you are taking linear, forward focused action.
If you are sitting around and waiting- that will never do it for you.
You will get too frustrated just sitting around and waiting...
Waiting for your next brilliant idea...
Waiting for the phone to ring with your next opportunity...
Waiting for you to be fully "ready"...
That is all crappy strategy...
Opportunity will begin to present itself.
Give today's show with Alli Webb a watch.
Her passion is infectious.
