So, last week I was speaking with a good friend of mine, Michael Dusa..

I have been working with him for a few months now.. and there was a concept he introduced me to last week that I wanted to share with you... CYCLING...
Not at a local spin class... but from a dietary standpoint...
Cycling, as he described was based on cycling between days of higher carbs vs. lower carbs...
So, on the lower carb days, the focus would be on increasing your protein intake..
As I mentioned yesterday, most Americans are in a protein deficit when compared to the amount of carbohydrates they crave and intake....
On days you are "less active"... those are good days to focus on LOW DAYS... and the days you are more active and more able to push yourself... those are the HIGHER DAYS...
Most people I find are walking around totally unconscious when it comes to realizing and recognizing the things they area actually placing in their mouth...
Grabbing and going.... not really considering source...
One adjustment I made with my morning eggs was favoring Hard Boiled Eggs vs. Omelettes because I can save on the oil intake needed to grease the pan...
Simple adjustment...but over the course of the week.. I can save heavily on 2tbsp. of oil per day...
I know.. sounds nuts.. but those extra calories can really pack on the weight as you age...
SO, today's lesson is about cycling the calories from carbs...
Increase Protein and Lower Carbs during low activity days....
Increase Protein and Slightly Elevate Carbs on higher activity days...
Give it a try... stick with it.. make your on judgements..
