Hey Team...

Well after being stuck in Cincy due to high winds.... I am back home!

Yesterday was one of those "hit the ground" running days...

Get up.. head to the airport... fly to NY, car to the city.... meeting in the city....dinner meeting, and a car ride home to finish it up!

Now, I knew the day was going to be busy.. so I planned for it...

Making it as "Easy" and "Smooth" as possible....

Yes, it costed me a few extra bucks, but it was 100% worth it so I can be efficient, effective, not stressed, and able to wake up today feeling great....

Take a look at how you schedule your days- are you thinking about efficiency and effectiveness? Or... are you reacting to a 5-Alarm Fire all the time?

I was there when I was younger and it left me tired all of the time... 

Always in high alert....

Never feeling grounded and working at my own pace.....

This reminds me of my meeting yesterday that I had with a gentleman in the Private Equity/ Finance space.....

I talked to him about setting up his day using GOAL POSTS...

One Goal Post starts your day, Another Goal Post ends your day....

Before the post, is your time.

In between the posts, is your work your a$$ off time.

After the other post, is your time as well.

What you do before, after, and in between will determine your happiness...

You just can not let anything carry over past the "posts"...

Meaning.. personal time should not carry into work...

Work should not carry into personal time...

Clear boundaries.

Clear distinctions.

Clarity leads to calmness....

Most high achievers can not stop working even when they are not working...

So, teaching them Goal Post Theory is important for them to see the light...and begin a transformation that usually takes several months....

But, in the end, they start to see how much time, energy, and thought they were wasting on things that did not matter.... or matter as much as they thought....

What I found though is most are just conditioned a certain way...

It is not that they want to be obsessed..

But, the environment they were raised in... as they were starting their career..as well as Company culture has lead to these behaviors....

Together, we change that.

We re-align, re-focus, and reset goals....

Then, drop the goal posts!

You can do this!

Let's GO!
