Hey Team-

Late night last night...

I had a book signing event in Mystic, CT...

What an amazing little seaside town....

For those that have been  there.. you know what I mean.. for those who have not... I suggest you check it out.. especially during the summer!

I met a wonderful couple there last night.. Heidi and Dan.. and we had a really amazing conversation about my new book, Habits of a Champion.. and what truly makes a Champion....

And I hit them with this...

"Most people can give you 100 reasons why they fail... but struggle to give you a few of the reasons why they succeeded.."

Ponder that...

When we have a bad performance... we know exactly WHY...

We know exactly WHO to blame....

We know exactly WHAT happened....

But.. most can not actually verbalize WHY they won or succeeded...

And so... I will tell you why.

Failure is often times a much more powerful emotion than that of victory (for most)....

Nobody wants to fail....

For most people... failure is what they have been trying to avoid their entire life....

Failure is also a motivator for many... or not failing....

Got it?

Does winning have the same connection to a persons deepest "fears".. nope. Winning is something that when it happens.. most are actually surprised... sometimes shocked... 

Then.. they give themselves a very soft pat on the back... and get back into the "I do not want to fail" game....

So.. let's do a little lesson together:

Remember your last Win...

Write down 3-things you did that led you to victory...

They could of been that day...

That year...

Or years leading up to the big win....

But what were 3-things that led to victory?

You will immediately realize this...

You will start to list more of a "process" than just one thing...

Remember... Process wins...

Habits and Routines are what lead you to victory...

Failure can often be based on an acute lack of judgement and focus... winning requires full alignment and often times intense "prep"... 

Think about your WINNING PROCESS... it starts by understanding WHY you succeeded.. and the steps you took to get there!
