As many of you know.. I am a huge proponent of Recovery.
Some of you may be wondering what that even means, but all athletes (that get it) focus as much on recovery as they do their training.
I remember after every game we played, especially on turf in Toronto and Tampa Bay, there was line to get into the Ice Cold Water Tanks..
Players knew, if they did not take care of their legs after the game, the next day would feel like they were running with cement boots.
I am sure you can relate after a big workout, jog, or a just a day that you spent more time than normal standing on your feet.
Recovery is everything.
I will tell you this though, there is one form a recovery I prefer when I feel anxious, overly unfocused, and just tense..
That is massage.
But not just any type of massage.
What is so amazing about this treatment is that when it is done right, you can actually "down-shift" and self regulate your nervous system.
If you are overstimulated, stressed, and anxious, it basically means your nervous/ sensory system is overly excited.
And because of that, you feel on guard, on-edge, and just "all over the place"...
Cranio-sacral massageis a scalp massage on steroids ( who doesn't love getting their hair washed at a salon??)...
But what makes this different than a standard "head" massage is that the therapist will spend time working the occipital region and base of the skull..
This can increase oxygen to the brain and also improve the flow of spinal fluid..
Truly amazing stuff..
My favorite part is that I always walk out in a hypnotic state... often times getting the best sleep of my life..
You guys need to try this...
If you are looking for a quick alternative.. give a Still Point Inducer a shot!
Anyway, most of us are working around totally reactive to people and our phones ( zombie scrolling for no reason outside of addiction).. so this a great way to take some time for yourself to disconnect!
Gotta go..
But hope you enjoy and can put this "special" treatment into play for yourself..
Google it.. and I am sure you can find a local provider!
