Hi Team...

I don't know if you are like me, but I feel like this quarantine has me busier than ever!

Honestly, I do not know where these days go.

Most of my days are filled with zoom meetings to inspire, motivate, and encourage teams in business and sports...

Helping them to keep perspective and focus on the mission, vision, and goal of the team and Company!

I shared a lesson with a group yesterday that was based on the message:

DO SOMETHING DIFFERENT, GET SOMETHING DIFFERENT.

How long have you been doing the same thing and expecting a different result?

We all know that is the classic definition of insanity...

My next question for you though is this:

How long have you been thinking the same way, yet, expecting different results in your life?

For many, they can not even remember because they give virtually zero thought to their habits, process, and trends of thought...

They just say, "I think, but how, I do not know"...

Listen up: Your results in life are based on how you think...

Good results, good thoughts.

Bad results, bad thoughts.

So, so results = So, so thoughts.

Now, what am I saying?

I am simply saying this: YOU MUST identify the areas in your life where you feel you are not getting the results you want... them, mind-map in reverse and ask yourself the following:

WHAT ARE MY THOUGHT CONCERNING THAT AREA?

WHAT AM I TELLING MYSELF BOTH CONSCIOUSLY AND SUBCONSCIOUSLY ABOUT _________________?

Let's use weight loss as an example (simple, classic example)...

Most people have the following dialogue with themselves:

  • I don't have the time to workout
  • I can never keep the weight-off
  • Diets do not work
  • I just can't lose weight
  • I am not good with discipline and accountability
  • It's too hard
  • I have too much going on right now
  • I am too busy with work
  • I will wait until Monday

Weight-Loss = All of That Crap Listed Above

So, it is no wonder it does not happen. Now, if you change your thoughts, you can change your results.

  • I don't have the time to workout  = I have plenty of time to workout
  • I can never keep the weight-off = I can keep weight-off with my new plan
  • Diets do not work= The right diet works for me.
  • I just can't lose weight= When I workout, I lose weight.
  • I am not good with discipline and accountability = Discipline helps me live a better life
  • It's too hard = I love the challenge and the reward of exercise
  • I have too much going on right now = I have nothing going on that is more important than my health.
  • I am too busy with work = I always make my training the first thing I do each day
  • I will wait until Monday = I am starting NOW.

Do you see how simply changing the dialogue can change your actions?

I mean, personally, just reading those statements allowed me to feel really good about training and exercise...

Here is the best part: This exercise above works for anything in your life...

Find the area you are not doing well, then, reverse the dialogue.

Does this work by doing it one time?   Nope.

But, if you are able to take a time each day, even 2 minutes and write out your new list of "reverse" statements that relate to an area you want to be better in, you can do an ACTIVE REHEARSAL of these statements to help you change your conscious and subconscious mind.

I am telling you...

This is one of the single most powerful exercises you can do to transform your life.

Give it a shot...

Let me know where you are at with this and I would love your feedback!
