Friday... another week in the books!
Last weekend, I was in a coffee shop and looked up at the wall.
It said: SubCULTure.
Obviously, the word CULT stood out to me.
Here we are in a coffee shop- and they are advertising the fact that by being here, you are a part of a club, or cult.
How many of us are a part of different Cults?
How many of us have started businesses for good or bad that are Cults?
My message is always about breaking from these sort of groups, classifications, or ways of identifying...so you can begin to identify yourself as YOU.
The only identification I suggest you going with is by your name.
Creating a level of immunity between you and external classifications is key.
Well, those externals can change and be fleeting. If they leave- well, often times so does your identity.
This is also how many people get depressed.
They attached to things: people, labels, environments and never actually get truly connected to themselves.
If you build a foundation on sand, your foundation can erode with even the smallest of storms. If you build on rock, your foundation is usually much more stable and able to handle the storms......
Success in that you are free. Liberated from the masses.
One of my highly successful clients told me: The Masses are Asses
So why would you ever want to be part of that group?
If you want to become the average, do what the averages do.
Make decisions to live your life like the masses and you will become the masses.
Autonomy and independence takes guts.
Not worrying about how you are being judged takes courage.
Working towards your goals, visions, dreams, and ultimately your mission takes a true sense of self-understanding.
So, the next time you think of "joining" any CULT, even if it is the cult at your local coffee shop... rebel against it.
